Gandhian Archives
Born in 2005, I was flattered by the idea of existence of Mahatma Gandhi. He was a sole inspiration for me. Eagerly waiting for 2nd October, preparing a little tribute on the day with craft embellishments, igniting agarbatti, offering kishmish as prasad and all this to a book I revered:

I had been an introverted person since birth. absorbed in my imagination, I rarely engaged with external world. India was yet to be graced or disgraced with smartphones and social media was not something as obvious back then except facebook. That leaves my parents and close relatives to judge and they always praised my inspiration. But with their appraisal, I always saw a slight smirk, you know that 'Aww, He is still a kid.' type of smile.
Then goes away the time, there grows the world and I arrive at the era of mind magnets: smartphones. Jio4G and Xiaomi made this service cheaper and accessible to our family. As a teenager who no longer 'celebrates' 2nd October the way I once did, but still considered Gandhi his ideal, I was eager to know what views this world holds. To say I was shocked would be unfair to the intensity of my reaction. Yet to say my small world was shattered by thunderous attacks of this naked reality would be an exaggeration.

Such content was a surprise indeed. Political opinions, 'unbiased' conclusions, public conflicts on Gandhi were not something I imagined. Of course, there are websites that oppose such claims and promote Gandhian philosophy as few mentioned below, and also people who continue to defend Bapu's legacy.

But in this spectrum of opinions, in this web of contradictions, I lost my innocence for Bapu. The man who once felt like an enigma, the man who stood against oppression, the man who inspired legends like Martin Luther King and Nelson Mandela, the man bestowed with the title 'Father of the Nation' is no longer worthy of our respect according to some people of this country.
Now in 2025, I seek the truth. I intend to build a path, strong with facts and references. I crave to build my childhood world again but this time more humane with faults and corrections. I aim to address every argument, for or against him, irrespective of my bias. So that, when someone like my younger self, gets confused in the spectrum, this page will be there as a hand, offering to walk on this path, to show who Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi really was.
